Official Rules

Documentaries, Narratives and Comedy both short and feature length. 

​Category determined by the Submitter status at the time of submission.

 

Shorts are under 30 minutes and Features are over 30 minutes

 

College Students Shorts under 30 minutes. Must be a registered college student at submission.

There will be two categories for children's shorts.  Ages 15-18 and 14 and under.  Submissions must be under 30 minutes.  Age category figured by the students age at the date of submission.  Category based on age of submitter, not content.

All submissions must be approved to show on public television to be qualified.  Films with strong language or strong sexual content may not be accepted for public television viewing. WRMPF reserves the right to determine qualification of any submission. 

Films must be submitted by digital file (mp4, mov) and downloadable through a platform like Vimeo. Finalists should submit any promotional materials, posters, flyers, etc and items will be distributed around town, used in promos and will not be returned. This year's festival will have a virtual component, so you can still send promotional materials, but if you have a poster, thumbnail you could upload with your submission, that would be fine too.

Films in language other than English must include English subtitles.

To qualify as an "Oklahoma film", at least 50% of the film must be shot on a set or location within Oklahoma.

We are unable to give feedback on your submitted project.  

​All submissions must have been completed no earlier than January 1, 2020 to qualify.

​Multiple category submissions are allowed, but fee must be paid for each category submission.

 

​All entry Fees are non-refundable.  Fees cover registration, notification that your entry has been received and notification of results. These fees must be paid during the entry process.

By entering the WILL ROGERS MOTION PICTURE FESTIVAL (WRMPF) competition, all entrants agree to hold harmless the WILL ROGERS MOTION PICTURE FESTIVAL, Will Rogers Memorial Foundation, owners, employees, associated Boards of Directors, Officers, Staff and Volunteers from all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation with the festival.

​The submitter acknowledges that WRMPF is under no obligation to use the Material in any manner and further represents and warrants that the Material is original, that the submitter has the right and authority to submit the Material to WRMPF on the foregoing terms and conditions, each and all of which shall be binding on the submitter, his/her agents, heirs, successors, licensees and assigns. 

SUBMITTERS, IF YOUR FILM(S) IS SELECTED, YOU'LL RECEIVE TWO (2) FREE SCREENING PASSES FOR THURSDAY AND FRIDAY SCREENINGS! This does not include other special events that may occur with or during the WRMPF. 

DEADLINES & DATES

Early deadline: April 1, 2024, Genre - $50; College Students, Ages 14-under and ages 15-18 - $15
Regular deadline: June 1, 2024, Genre - $60; College Students, Ages 14-under and ages 15-18 - $20
Final deadline: August 31, 2024, Genre - $75; College Students, Ages 14-under and ages 15-18 - $25
